I thought I would post a new picture of Ewan seeing as this is what the majoirty of readers to this blog are looking for.

When I was around Ewan’s age (almost 7 months) my mom and grandmother and I took a trip to Antigonish. Mom had a dental appointment and Gram and I were kicking it at the Met to kill some time. When Mom returned, she found us at the shops restaurant and to her horror, she found little me contently sucking on a french fry.

I was home visiting my mom and dad last week. One night we had french fries. Ewan was sitting on my lap as he usually does at mealtime. The bowl of fries was a little close, and quick as a flash Ewan had a fat little fist full of the greasy morsels. It happened so quickly, and there was no camera nearby, but whenever I think of that moment, I feel that all is right in the world. It’s not that’s I’m really pro-french fry or anything, mostly just loving the circle of life

I thought today would be an appropriate time to start this Blog. I submitted my resignation today for the first 9 – 5 job I have ever had. The last 7 months of our lives have been some of the most interesting to date. Beck and I decided to start writing this blog after a number of events pointed out how far off the path we had traveled from where the both of us expected to be. My first task was to start the ball rolling.

Time has now become the most valuable commodity we have. Spending it with each other, our most important goal. Our challenge now becomes dealing with the countless outside influences that will attempt to convince us that this decision is “risky” and that “security” is required for happiness to thrive. To some degree, I cannot completely disagree with this statement. The challenge becomes focusing more of our attention to things the we “Want” to do, stopping to do things we “Have” to do as infrequently as possible.

From my perspective, renegotiating the idea of “Success” lies at the heart of this challenge. My hope for this Blog is to share our lives with the people we love most, and keep everyone up to date on both our successes, and failures. It will also serve as a creative outlet from which we can share our ideas and plans with the entire world. I couldn’t possibly ask for better partners than the two I have been given.
